What is Bad Logic?
Logic is the approach to a conclusion from the extraction from one or more premises. Logic can be abused to make people believe in something that is not true. For example, one could say that all Christians believe in God, and all Muslims believe in God, therefore all Christians are Muslims. Individual premises may be correct, however the conclusion that is drawn may not necessarily be valid. Propagandists use this technique in order to manipulate logic of the people to advertise their cause.

Analysis:
In the following advertisement, the propagandist is promoting President George W. Bush. The conclusion reached on the bottom of the ad is an example of abused logic, or a logical fallacy. The individual statements, "Saddam committed 9/11" and "Bush caught Saddam" are true when they are put separately. However, when the conclusion jumped into "Bush made America safe", it is arguable and not necessarily true from the given premises. Just because Bush caught the man who started 9/11, doesn't mean that he automatically makes America safe. Also, there is insufficient information to fully claim the conclusion it reached. For instance, people aren't informed on what Bush exactly did after capturing Saddam, or how he ensured that America would not be involved in such attacks. Therefore, the ad is an example of logic abused to manipulate people to think that Bush is a hero of America.
